Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms!
We should really spoil our Mom’s everyday… but at the very least on Mother’s Day! I must begin by wishing my Mom a Happy Mother’s Day and my wife Sarah too!
If you are struggling with how to spoil your mom, check out Canadian Living’s Top 10 ideas.
We will be doing a combo of #1, #2, and #10. I love the idea of sharing a meal, especially at a restaurant, where we leave the cooking and clean up to someone else!
Now I wouldn’t dare compare Afterglow to a mom, but we do play a motherly role for your heating and cooling equipment. We don’t want your furnace or air conditioner to get sick, we want it to have a long successful life and we check in to make sure everything is A-Okay.
So, to all you hard working moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day! May you be spoiled!
Did you ever watch the TV show Cheers? Every time Norm walked in, everyone yelled “NORM”, and as he sat down at the bar his beer was already half poured. I have a place like that… although it’s not a bar, it’s a coffee shop.
I love Death Valley’s Little Brother in Uptown Waterloo. The cappuccinos are delicious, or the Americano (depending on your mood.) The owners, Catherine and Joel are friendly and always around. The regulars all have their specific spots, and I always run into at least three people I know.
Whether it is where you get your coffee or your bakery, it’s nice to feel like a regular! We treat all of our customers like regulars… most of you are! But for new customers, we will treat you like we have been caring for your furnace, air conditioner or boiler for the last 20 years.
We strive to create repeat customers, and that requires extra attention and effort to get to know our clients and their specific needs. At Afterglow we understand it’s more than a product or service: it’s about the entire experience and customer relationship.

So what is Saul Korman’s Advice? Read on…
I love hearing the comforting voice of Saul Korman advertising Korry’s on the FAN-590 radio station. It is his authentic style that keeps me listening and enjoying his ads.
Last summer I emailed Saul to let him know that I liked his ads and that I would like to do something similar in my HVAC industry in the Kitchener Waterloo area. My father and I went down to the Danforth to chat with him. What a hospitable and warm man!
Recently I had lunch with Saul. I just love hearing the stories of a veteran business man. Near the end of the meal, I said: Saul, what kind of advice can you give a younger business person like me? He looked me in the eyes and said, “Hug your customers. Hug them and never let them go…”
I knew exactly what he meant.

T’is the season for the 2nd annual Afterglow Furnace Giveway!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and that means snow, wind and below freezing temperatures. Many of us take our warm, cozy homes for granted. A house without a properly functioning furnace lacks the warmth of a home, and can be dangerous to its residents. Space heaters can be expensive and can make your hydro bill unaffordable.
Afterglow will be giving the gift of warmth this winter to a family in need. It was the best Christmas gift we could give as a company last year and we have been looking forward to doing it again!
The winner will have their new furnace installed before Christmas Day!
You can nominate a family here. Submissions are due December 13th 2013.
